Before I gear up and bravely head out for my 2nd CrossFit experience later this afternoon, I thought I’d try and start a new weekly post about all the things I’ve been loving this week. Products, links, even just “life hacks”.
In our house we’ve cycled through a lot of different cooking oils. We used olive oil for a few years and then we realized both of us didn’t like it! So why were we using it?? We then switched to grapeseed oil which is GREAT but sometimes hard to find. We use coconut oil a lot but there is a strong coconut aftertaste so I reserve it for mostly baking and sweet foods. We recently picked up a bottle of Avocado oil and it’s great. A slightly nutty aftertaste but it’s worked well in everything we’ve tried so far. We picked up a big bottle at Costco.
Homemade granola bars
I’m loving this recipe. I’ve made them at least 5 times and constantly change up the ingredients but it never fails. Mine bake in 30 minutes or less. The recipe calls for 30-40.
I pack out little guy’s lunches in this stainless steel lunchbox 3x/week and I get a kick out of it every time. It came with cute magnets for the front, a purple carry case and two containers for liquids/dips. I love packing his little bento lunch. This lunchbox will last until he refuses to use it anymore, at which time I will start using it for myself! (they make adult sized boxes too but his is plenty big enough)
That’s it for this week! I hope I can walk tomorrow as I’m still hurting a little bit from Tuesday night’s workout. You know it was a hard workout when you need to utilize the bars inside the handicapped stall to lower yourself to pee!
